Teeth Brushing Meditation

I was feeling tired and grumpy, but I chose to ignore these feelings. I knew that they would pass. I helped my wife make dinner and replied to a couple of emails, then we sat on the couch and watched a movie. My head was pounding and I almost took Advil, but decided against it because I was immersing myself in the pain. I could feel my heart beat in the back of my rib cage, sending the blood to my head and the throb of energy with it.

I decided to go to bed early. I brushed my teeth and felt the throbbing. It became a teeth-brushing meditation. The whole process became one big body sensation.

I got lost in the moment of the movements and after I was done my headache was gone.

The brilliance of meditation can be found in many different techniques. I’m not sure if this teeth-brushing meditation will solve a headache again, but I’m sure going to try.
