Accept Your Uniqueness

Basics, Emotional Tools for Better Living, Tips

It’s selfish not to accept who you are because you’re denying the world a chance to enjoy the real you. Everyone is unique in some way or another. I have a friend who won’t enjoys painting feet. I have another friend who laughs like a maniac in public places just so people look at him. The people who are not afraid of being different derive more pleasure from life. I’m unique because I am a one of a kind being who has crazy thoughts that I wouldn’t want anyone to know. They pop into my head and make me smile. I would never act on them, but I accept that they are there. Anyone who tells you that they have normal thoughts all the time is lying.

How can anyone not be weird living on this crazy planet?

We need to accept that it’s okay to be different from everyone else. It’s good to be unique because it creates an atmosphere of fun. If everyone would tell the same jokes and same old stories, we wouldn’t have the laughter to share with each other.

You must accept yourself as you are, instead of as you would like to be, which means giving up self-deception and wishful thinking.”

When we avoid our thoughts and feelings we are denying ourselves the chance to grow. When Albert Einstein was a young man he questioned the world around him. He didn’t want to accept the world the way most others saw it. His conscious wouldn’t allow it. This internal search directed his thoughts to E=mc. He saw life in a different way from anyone before him and was able to change people’s perspectives on how they saw their own life in context with the rest of the world. They began to see more levels of space that they never thought existed.

When you can accept your unique gifts that have been bestowed upon you then you can use those gifts to develop your life into the one that nourishes you instead of allowing yourself to feel empty. You may wish to be rich or find the love of your life, but the only thing that will make you happy is you, so start with accepting your faults and your gifts and learning to use them to your advantage. The only way to succeed in your life is to accept the real you. When you learn to love who you are, you can appreciate the people and things around you and turn your focus toward the things in your life that make you happy.
