Praise Others
Emotional Tools for Better Living
Praise is free and should be given out generously. I don’t condone blowing praise up people’s butts without it being worthwhile because false praise is worthless, but a well timed compliment is equal to pure love.
“Praise out of season, or tactlessly bestowed, can freeze the heart as much as blame.”
- Pearl S. Buck
But true praise can melt the heart of a person that knows you really mean it.
The number one reason I tell you to give out as much praise as is deserved is this:
You.
When you praise another individual, you are opening your mind to the beauty in that person. Whether it be physical, mental, or praising their soul, you are unlocking the love from inside you.
Deserved Praise
I noticed that the more I appreciate the people in my life, the more I care about myself. By learning how to give deserved praise I have learned real emotional joy – the purest form of joy known to any person. I wrote a blog full of praise for a couple of friends who were leaving the city and moving back to their hometown. My wife and I considered them a part of our family. During the process of writing that piece I got emotional and my eyes welled up. I was surprised by how much joy was oozing out of me. After posting the piece online, I heard from many friends that they thought it was lovely. The sister of the friend that was leaving told me it made her cry. After she told me that, I understood how much I needed to show others that they were truly beautiful.
We don’t have a lot of time on this planet, and that is why we must share our praise with others as often as we can.
